A Manner describes general or specific characteristics of an event in one of three ways: First, it can refer to how a Comparison_event transpires, absent the influence of an entity (e.g. "the way you talk"). Second, it can refer to how a Salient_entity conducts, performs, or otherwise participates in a Comparison_activity (e.g. "her manner of speaking").
