Opposing_force

The Opposing_force is the item placed in opposition to the Resisting_entity. Opposing_force hinders, blocks, helps, or allows (lets) the Resisting_entity to resist at the level specified by the target. Sometimes this Core FE is incorporated in the target; otherwise, it is often null instantiated in example sentences. The fortress was impregnable to attack by hostile invaders.
